Dress for your party

So the UK Parliament is hung (like so many men wish they were) and we still don’t know who's running the show...Conservatives, Labour or Lib Dems. Well your country needs YOU!

Not to vote (that was a few days ago peeps where ya been?)But to rep the party you support by rocking their colours and style:

Conservative Chic:
The conservative woman's swag is sharp, sexy secretary meets US preppy style. She's got a penchant for Victoria Beckham's taste, she's bold and in charge! Zip up dresses in blue or grey hues(Rolande Mouret or DKNY is the dream), slip on ultra high, power woman heels Guisseppe Zanotti style and carry a classic piece of arm candy(think the Mulberry Alexa or Marc Jacobs Stam Bag).

Labour Babes:
Labour babes are into tailoring and clean lines, but the style is a little easier going than the Tory totty. Dresses veer to a Herve Leger tip, heels are Christian Louboutins or Fendi's and you wear your red labour heart on your sleeve (well over your sleeve) in the form of a Judith Leiber purse. Labour Babes can easily translate their look from day to night by ruching up the dress (sexy time!)

Lib Dem Ladies
So you girls are a little more daring with your policies and opinions and that translates to the wardrobe. Out comes the Matthew Williamson dress for the evenings and at the weekend you're rocking a rebellious Anya Hindmarch tote, ripped boyfriend jeans and a fresh white tee- easy!

**Looks: Lib Dem first two images (current/ elliot jeans, with a Hindmarch tote), Labour look is the 3rd image and last (but not least) the conservatives pulling up the rear with a DKNY dress and the Mulberry Alexa** Looks avail @ netaporter, Harvey Nicks, Browns et al!

Maximum Impact

Its SUMMERTIME!!! And one of the biggest trends for ladies is the maxi. Men seem to think we look like zoom lollies and loose our shape in 'em ...so lets show the fella's how we rock it! Here are 5 simple tips to maxi heaven.....

1)Day to night: Go for fitted bandeau styles and bright hues like burnt orange or hot pink. Wear a slim line gilet or hoodie over the dress with strappy flats in the day, add a statement necklace, wedge's and remove gilet/ hoodie in the evening et voila...night time glamour to make the boys stammer.

2)Short girls don't cry: You can rock a maxi too! Check out the petite ranges in Topshop, ASOS and Miss Selfridge. Also look out for Maxi's that stop just above the ankle and don’t be afraid to buy a dress and get it altered at your friendly neighbourhood dry cleaners...they are handy with a needle and thread if you ain't!

3) Layering: Cropped t-shirts are also a hot trend a la the likes of Daisy Lowe...Layer a cropped tee over a close fit strappy maxi dress to change up the look

4) Read between the lines: Horizontal lines and slogan maxi's make a hot impact when you want to stand out- KAPOW!

5)Belt it baby: The (fashion) oracle has spoken. Super star stylist Rachel Zoe told Glamour magazine this month that belts were a trend worth investing in this summer. Keep 'em wide with mini skinny straps on the front, or corset/ obi style and they'll tie your maxi dresses up a treat

**Dresses and gilet available from ASOS.com, belt from onceuponabelt.com
